Florida's Stand Your Ground Law: The law strengthened Florida's statutes on self-defense by saying that when faced with death or great bodily harm, individuals could use deadly force and had no duty to retreat. It also says that people defending themselves are immune from arrest, detention and prosecution. (taken from NPR.org news article)

If you were defending this case, what arguments would you make? 4. Imagine you are a jury member. Use the Florida Stand Your Ground law stated above to decide this case. Explain the reason for your decision. Would your decision change if you applied the NJ law instead? Explain. 5. What fact issues remained unresolved in your case. 6.
